Following a horrendous experience with my NHS dentist I was very fortunate to discover the exemplary practice of Alfonso Rao in Queens Square. From the moment I arrived I was treated to the highest standards of dental care anyone could ask for. Every step of the way was explained to me thoroughly and I was given all the information I needed to make the choices that were right for me. The dental practice have practitioners who are at the top of their profession and in addition to my implant work, I have also had amazing sessions with their hygienist Saskia who has radically changed the way I look after my teeth for the better. I believe good dental care is of prime importance to overall wellness and I can’t recommend the Queens Square Dental Clinic more.

I am writing this review as I know how hard it is to pick a dentist and I based my choice on the reviews I read. Seen by Dr Alfonso for a new patient full examination. The team were really friendly. Dr Alfonso himself was fantastic, open and transparent communication, explained everything well. Lays out options before you but applies no pressure and is honest about whether treatment is needed or not. Am glad I have joined.

I’ve been avoiding a check up for years due to anxiety about treatment. I was told the QSDC guys were especially good with patients with anxiety conditions so I let them know in advance and they put me at ease right away. Dr Alfonso explained everything with none of the usual hard sell or guilt tripping and talked me through everything. Highly recommend!

My Philosophy
There are two types of dentist in this world
Those who see only teeth, and those who see only people.
Treat only the teeth and the patient leaves feeling unfulfilled. But treating only the person means agreeing to the patient’s every wish – even when they don’t align with best interests of health.
I’ve always tried to maintain a balance between the two approaches. Because patients and smiles are more than the sum of their parts.
To maintain this balance, I place patient relationships firmly front and centre of my practice. And I bring my general dentistry and clinical background to bear on every aesthetic decision to ensure the best long-term health outcomes. Some say I’m a perfectionist. That’s true – I won’t compromise on the quality of materials or clinical care and I approach every consultation as though treating a member of my own family.
And if that were really the case, wouldn’t you be a perfectionist too?
